Recording, mixing, and mastering… our first loves; like Phoebe, Rachel, and Monica. Picture it, circa early 2000’s middle-class basement in the Philadelphia suburbs. This is where From the Woods’ owner and founder, John Rupp, spent countless hours recording his band’s music with nothing but a pile of cassette machines, half-functioning budget mixing consoles, no-name brand microphones, and cables barely held together by scotch tape.
Since the humble days of DIY basement studios, Rupp went on to intern and become assistant engineer at the legendary Quad Studios in the heart of Time’s Square. He’s since recorded, mixed, and mastered hundreds of songs across multiple genres. Regardless of streams or status, he pours his heart into delivering only the best sound to each artist.
